Copying isn't always plagiarism. Copying an art piece exactly and using it as your own idea, is where the line is crossed. But copying an artwork and saying its a remake or making it slightly altered compared to the original, is actually an incredible and original idea. If you copy an artwork while making it your own, you've used an artist as your inspiration and it's helped build your artistic style. By copying artwork and recreating pieces, you learn new techniques and you learn your artistic boundaries. By copying art, an artist can even create their best piece, that may not have existed unless they copied it.
