When we did the shading and value charts we learned about how to control the amount of pressure you apply and how it affects the values of an object. The darker you want something to be, the harder you press. If you want something to be lighter, you apply less pressure. We also learned about light source which is when you chose an area on the paper that wound be where the line Is shining onto the object and would be the lightest. You shade according to your light source to make the object look more realistic. Finally we learned about how the softer lead of pencil you use, the easier it is to make dark lines.
