During this unit I learned a ton about figure drawing. Originally I had NEVER done anything with a figure, and figure drawing may definitely not be my best aspect when drawing, but I definitely learned more about how to draw the human body. I learned a little bit about how to blend colors to create a more realistic skin look, while also adding highlights and shadows by using yellow and purple/blue in areas along with the skin color prisma pencil. By using different shades of brown with black, I was able to create a streaky look within the hair and make it look more like there are individual strands within the bun.
I planned my peice by going on Pinterest and searching for different pictures of women's backs as well as back painting to derive my final image from. Alongside this I practiced in my sketchbook how to draw a back, but mostly how to shade different areas of the back since most figure drawings are of the face and front of the body. Making it look like a painting on her back with prisma was hard but just required tons of pressure. Mixing the colors on the back was nearly mission impossible and I felt like I used a ton of pressure to try and blend, but it didn't turn out as well blended as I was hoping, unfortunately. I like how I was able to make the jeans look by using purples, blacks and blues, and how my tie dye painting on the back looked as well. by using so many colors I loved how vibrantthat part turned out.
